Retroarch not working2/27/2023 ![]() ![]() RetroArch :: This is RetroArch version 1.4.1 (Git ba98ecd) I have managed to test it on a intel i5 4200u with intel hd 4400, it also runs without issues. It also runs fine on my Core2Duo with win 10 and nvidia 8800 prehistoric VGA card. I have tried the 64 bit version but also the 32 bit version. Version 1.3.6 runs like a charm, but 1.4.1 crashes directly on loading. I am having the exact same issues as the topic starter. I have been lurking around the forums for quitte a bit, and this my first contribution. The short answer is for emulation, get a series s.First i would like the thank you guys for creating such an awesome piece of software. I have both, and I played a lot of older games yesterday. I have started selling all old gaming hardware. No more logging into Windows, switching between keyboard and controllers or worrying about other programs trying to update while I'm trying to play. And it is so much better than hooking my pc on my tv. Everything just a few button presses away. Again, might be able to push resolution higher on series x, but then again I didn't write down the exact differences.Ĭan I just take a moment to just tell you all how much I love this? I can now play better versions of all my older favourite games, without asking my brother of he can get a box in his attic, without me trying to get a good picture from the ps2 on the tv, without my Dreamcast beeoing at me for lack of batteries in the vmu. When both use retroarch with the ps2 core, I feel they're not that different. PS2 is hard to test, as my series x has the standalone app, while I was unable to get that app for series s before it was taken down. Maybe I could push the resolution higher on series x? But when I try, I get more stutters on both. On gamecube I feel the two consoles emulate it similar too. Series x might go higher, but since I don't have the same version of Retroarch or Flycast on both consoles, that might affect it too. Both of these let you adjust accuracy and resolution quite a bit. Dreamcast has the Flycast core, or Flycast app. Saturn is best with the beetle core, and there is no difference between x or s. Then you get to sega Saturn and dreamcast. Yes, older stuff is the same on series x or s. The short answer is for emulation, get a series s. After the change of directory, the core didn't warning me again about BIOS files not found.Ĭlick to shrink.I have both, and I played a lot of older games yesterday. I tried to scan it manually but it didn't work. I thought about it also beacuse (here comes the second question) i put some BIOS files in the USB as adviced for the PCSXrearmed core but it kept not recognizing them until i change the directory in the emulator option. So, i wonder, and i know it's not explained in the guides, if we have to map all the directories to the external USB even for all the other files, like BIOS, cores, and so on. Since i think it's clear, because i checked the directories, that these files are stored locally, i wonder if i will have to empty all the folders when i want to uninstall Retro or update it (if i have to remove it) beacuse if i won't doing so, i think thant that storage could be lost. For example, when you setup for the first time Retro, you have to update cores and so on, so the app downloads files and data. But i was wondering if the local storage problem when you delete Retro without deleting the files applies also for something different than games put into the interal storage. Since i read about the local storage "possibile problem", i used the usb method. ![]() I used the discord channel and i followed the guides to get Retroarch and the USB storage method. I found this useful thread and with my new Xbox Series S I tried to play a bit with the emulation, beacuse sounded quite interesting to me since I was just thinking to somehow play my old Tekken 3 for PS1 □ ![]()
